Gdansk’s waterfront takes on an entirely different charm once the sun starts to dip. I’ve spent more than a few evenings on the Motława River, watching the city’s amber glow reflected in the water while the historic crane silhouette stands proudly nearby.

Sunset cruises here don’t just mean a boat ride,they’re an invitation to slow down and soak in a side of Gdansk most visitors miss. These boats gently glide past medieval buildings, the old shipyards of Stocznia, and even out toward the Bay of Gdansk. On a clear evening, you’ll catch glimpses of Westerplatte’s greenery just as the sky blushes pink and orange.

One tip I always share: head to the cruise that departs closer to 7 PM in the summer, when the sunset really puts on a show. And if you can, pick one with a local guide or captain who loves sharing little stories about the city,those details make the whole experience way more memorable. Don’t forget to bring a lightweight jacket though; the breeze on the water tends to be cooler, even in July.
