What really makes this hotel is its excellent location directly along the Motława River promenade, placing many of Gdańsk's main attractions within easy walking distance. My suite, however, had a noticeable odor that seemed to come from the aging carpet. Fortunately, the sitting room had windows that could be opened, and I kept them open throughout my stay to help air out the suite. I do wonder whether some of the smaller rooms have windows that open at all, as only the sitting room in my suite offered that option. There were also a few issues with the laundry service. Due to a mix-up, my laundry was not returned until the morning of my departure, which made packing more stressful than it needed to be. Breakfast was fairly basic and adequate, but it lacked the variety and quality I have come to expect from hotels in this category. What stood out even more, however, was the atmosphere throughout the hotel. During my entire stay, I never recall seeing a single staff member smile. While everyone was professional and efficient, the overall demeanor felt rather distant, especially compared with the warm and welcoming service I have experienced at many other hotels.

I'm giving a 2 star review as the price isn't worth it. For 3 nights as a solo traveller the cost was 4000PLN which is £800GBP/$1070USD... for only 3 nights... This included a surprise deposit of roughly 450PLN, which I was not made aware of before arrival (£100GPB/130USD). I also requested an upgrade before arrival to the hotel which was confirmed via email (see attachment). However, when I arrived I was informed this upgrade wasn't possible and I was instead put into a dusty room at the back of the hotel with a window view over a cobbled street and worn down hostel building... (see attachment - white building with 'Hostel' written on the front). Some positives: room size was great although the window view was crap, double bed was comfy, bathroom was a good size, the staff were friendly, some great room service (I ordered some dinner during my last night's stay) plus the hotel is in a good location to access the river and see historical Gdansk. You can easily go to the local WW2 museum too. The hotel's rooftop bar is also a nice option for somewhere to get a high view over the river and take some nice pics. Not a cosy atmosphere though with the aesthetic of the hotel overall feeling corporate & businessy. Thereby, I can imagine those who stay at the hotel would be business travellers, but not solo leisure travellers who are sightseeing or attending local music festivals (like myself). The more I think about the absurd cost of staying only 3 nights, the more sick I feel lol. So, to clarify, the 2 star review is reflective mostly of the high cost (there are quite a few positives as noted above).

​I have stayed at numerous Hilton properties around the world, and I am currently completing my second day at the Hilton Gdańsk. While the hotel boasts an enviable location and excellent bones, the overall experience has unfortunately been dampened by lapses in housekeeping and a underwhelming food and beverage. The hotel is perfectly situated right along the scenic Motława River, offering beautiful views and putting you just a short, pleasant walk away from Old Town Gdańsk. ​Room Comfort: The rooms themselves are spacious, featuring very comfortable beds and modern, well-appointed bathrooms. ​For a hotel of this caliber, attention to detail should be paramount. Unfortunately, room maintenance seems to be lacking. Upon check-in, I noticed a large, prominent stain on two of the wardrobe doors that had not been cleaned, and it was clear that the carpet had not been vacuumed before my arrival. ​As a loyal Elite member (Gold/Diamond), I have a solid benchmark for Hilton breakfasts, and this was easily the most underwhelming continental breakfast selection I have ever encountered. The offerings were incredibly sparse. To make matters worse, the buffet was poorly replenished; I had to personally alert a staff member just to get orange juice and croissants restocked. ​On one morning, the staff offered the wrong cup size for coffee machine flow, causing the coffee to overflow right as it was poured, a minor detail, but indicative of the general lack of attentiveness. ​I was also looking forward to enjoying the rooftop bar yesterday, but it was completely closed to hotel guests due to a private event. While private functions are understandable, it is always disappointing when a key feature of a luxury property is unavailable to staying guests. The Hilton Gdańsk has immense potential given its fantastic location and comfortable rooms. However, the service execution and property maintenance currently feel subpar for a Hilton property, especially for loyal frequent travelers who expect a consistent level of care.

We had Hilton Gold status and were unfortunately refused a room upgrade with a view because the hotel was “full.” Since we only stayed for one night, we would have appreciated a small gesture such as an upgraded room to better enjoy the experience. Otherwise, the hotel itself was well-located, bright and spacious. Our room featured large floor-to-ceiling windows, which made it feel very open and modern. We also appreciated the reusable glass bottles provided in the room, which could be refilled with still or sparkling water from the fountain located on our floor. We also enjoyed the top floor rooftop bar terrace. The service was quick and it offered beautiful views. The breakfast was honestly one of the best we have had across all Hilton properties we have stayed at. There was also a dedicated breakfast area for loyal Hilton members, which made the experience feel more elevated and relaxed. The location is excellent as well, very central and within walking distance of practically everything.

The Hilton Hotel Gdańsk exceeded expectations. The river views were gorgeous, the late‑night pool access made the stay feel extra special, and the staff were warm and welcoming throughout. Our room was comfortable, especially the bed, and the location is ideal for exploring the city. Couldn’t fault the experience.
