Description
Depart Warsaw and travel to the Vistula River delta to explore Malbork Castle, founded by the Knights of the Teutonic Order. It is the largest castle complex in Europe by land area. Inside, admire the courtyard and cloisters of the High Castle, and discover the Summer Refectory where feasts took place. View the Gothic architecture of the Grand Masters' Palace in the Middle Castle.
Continue to Gdansk’s Old Town for a guided walking tour. Pass the Coal Market (Targ Węglowy), site of the annual Christmas Market, and visit the Amber Museum located in the former Prison Tower. Walk through the Golden Gate into Long Market, leading to the Green Gate. Experience Artus Court, a medieval meeting place for wealthy merchants, and see the ornate Dutch House (Dom Holenderski) and Neptune’s Fountain. Visit the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the largest brick church in the world.
