Description
Explore Gdańsk from the water on a replica of a Polish river ship used for over 400 years, primarily in the 18th century. This wooden, spacious, 12-seater boat allows access to narrow waterways where larger ships cannot navigate.
The cruise departs from the former Gdańsk Shipyard, a site once employing nearly 18,000 workers and closed to visitors for more than 170 years. Established after 1945 on the grounds of the former German shipyards, the shipyard is also the birthplace of the 1980 'Solidarity' movement that contributed to the fall of communism in Poland.
From there, you will cruise along the Motława River through the Old Town, viewing landmarks such as the ruins of the Teutonic castle, historic water gates, the 15th-century wooden crane, and restored old tenement houses.
The route continues to notable monuments and modern buildings on Ołowianka and Granary Island. This tour uniquely provides close views of specialist vessels, iconic Gdańsk port cranes, and the internal quay of the Port of Gdańsk.
