This is definitely genuine obiady domowe (home-style Polish food) from a bar mleczny (Polish milk bar). The food was tasty, and the chicken was decent. However, the portion sizes were disappointing. The salad consisted of just one spoonful and a single gherkin. At 39 PLN, it's not particularly cheap. In the city where I usually live, I can get the same combination of soup and a main course for around 28 PLN, and the portions are noticeably larger. It wouldn't cost much to serve a little more salad, especially since vegetables are inexpensive. Meat is also relatively affordable in Poland, while labour costs are lower and VAT is the same. For that reason, I don't think there is much justification for serving such small portions at this price.
Great meals, really tasty! The service was patient with us and was nice 😊 We enjoyed the dill on the top of potato mash. Brilliant!
One of the best places if you want to try real Polish food, and it is really cheap. We didn't know what to order but the girl on the bar helped us to decide :)
A lovely traditional Polish canteen. The food was simple but delicious and the environment is simple but clean. I went for breakfast (they open at 8am) and it was quite quiet. The lady behind the counter spoke some English so was able to explain what each dish was. I’d go again!
