Description
The Wolf's Lair is a major WWII site hidden in Poland's Masurian forest. This was Hitler's main military headquarters during much of the war. Travel privately from Warsaw with a licensed guide and admission tickets included. You can select a 10-hour or 12-hour option.
The 10-hour tour includes a three-hour guided walk through the ruins, illustrating the complex's function, its residents, and critical wartime decisions. The site covers over 250 hectares and housed more than 2,000 people. Built in 1941 and camouflaged, it was partially destroyed by retreating German forces in 1945. Surviving bunkers have walls up to 8 meters thick. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore before returning to Warsaw.
The 12-hour option adds visits to the Mamerki Bunkers, former headquarters of the German Land Forces’ Supreme Command. This self-guided visit includes shelters, officers' quarters, and wartime exhibitions. The return route passes Święta Lipka Sanctuary, a Baroque pilgrimage site featuring ornate cloisters, a richly decorated basilica, and a historic organ with moving figurines.
