4th year staying here. Good hostel for long stays. Every year I stay here for 4-7 nights and have never had any complaints. Staff always very helpful.
Exceptional Hostel, but a small suggestion for better sleep! I recently stayed at the Olympic Hostel in Gdansk and I was very impressed. The place is exceptionally clean, tidy, and everything from the facilities to the atmosphere was excellent. Truly one of the best hostels in the city. However, I had a difficult time sleeping due to two other guests who were snoring very loudly all night. While this isn't the hostel's fault directly, I have a suggestion to make the experience better for everyone: To Guests: If you know you are a heavy snorer, please consider booking a private room to respect the rest of others. To the Management: It would be a great idea to perhaps dedicate specific rooms for "heavy sleepers" or "snoring-friendly" zones, or provide earplugs at the reception to help minimize these disturbances. Overall, it's a fantastic place and I highly recommend it for its cleanliness and quality
One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in during my hostel stays! The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and there's a huge kitchen available for guests. The location is fantastic - just a short walk to the city centre. It's great value too, especially with free breakfast included. A special shoutout to the receptionist with pink hair - she was super helpful with my room and gave me excellent tips about Poland. What I loved most is how she treats this hostel like her second home, which really makes the place feel warm and welcoming.
The red-haired woman at the reception makes this hostel feel almost like a five-star hotel. Considering the price, the breakfast is really good and works perfectly. The hostel is clean and absolutely top-notch in its price range. The people who have complained in the reviews about minor irrelevant things probably haven’t travelled very much. I’ve stayed in quite a lot of hostels myself, and I can say that overall this one is right at the top—if not the best I’ve ever stayed in.
Hostel location was good, right next to the Solidarity square, directly at the main road with trams, trucks etc. On the third floor without elevator. There is only very little staff and they do not always sit at the reception, cannot give much tourist advice and are a bit slow but they are kind and try to help. They do not organise any programme, tours etc. Room size was okay. Ear plugs were provided and are almost necessary as there is no air condition and the only way to cool down the temperature is to open a window meaning letting in traffic noise and a 24/7 non stop beeping traffic lights/zebra crossing signal. Bed sheets and a towel were provided for free and my bed was comfortable. There are no hanging possibilities for towels, clothes etc., no shelves or bed lamps. Some power sockets and usb sockets were working, some not. Luggage boxes are big enough and fit a standard carry-on suitcase with 2 small backpacks. Bathroom was clean and spacious enough. Hair dryers can be lent at the receptions. Breakfast was served in sealed plastic boxes where you had some slices of ham, cheese, tomato, pepper, cucumber and a cube of butter. If you need to check-out before breakfast time, you can ask the staff to leave a breakfast box with some bread for you in the fridge in the evening. Cereals with milk, honey, jam and an unlimited amount of bread were also provided. Tea and coffee were always available. Kitchen was fully equipped and with enough space to sit. It is a small basic hostel but you can still have a great time in Gdansk when staying here.
