What a treat to behold! Found this on a recent trip while finishing up a walking tour. Very unlike the kitschy tourist traps. The food is elevated versions of polish staples, but with seasonal ingredients. The ceviche was fresh and flavors superb and perfectly balanced. The Pirogi was seasoned with summer truffles and radishes and mushrooms. Highly recommend!
Striving and reaching but still a way to go. A well judged and inventive halibut ceviche was pinned down by a cantina corny chowder and a confusing white asparagus on green olives and creamed chickpeas. Few wines by the glass.
I had the most lovely evening here. My waiter, warm Patrick was an absolute gem. Really the sweetest guy. The food was amazing, and so pretty. I highly recommend, loved every second of my visit! Such a welcoming atmosphere. I had the ceviche and the lamb shank.
Great menu. We opted for the soup which was very flavoursome. The lamb shank was delicious! So tasty! Good wine list, we had a good Slovenia pinot noir. It was quiet when we were there (Monday night) but they’d just had a table of 40 actors for their Easter celebration meal! Some of the actors portraits can be found on the walls as it used to be an actors guild.
The restaurant is tucked away in a cozy alley in Gdańsk’s Old Town, which adds to its charm. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, setting a lovely tone for the evening. The food was splendid overall. The halibut, in particular, was phenomenal and definitely the highlight of the meal. The octopus and scallop dishes were also very good fresh and well-prepared though they didn’t quite leave a lasting impression. The scallop, however, stood out for being especially refreshing. I had made a birthday reservation and mentioned it in my note, but unfortunately, it seemed to go unacknowledged. It also appears that the establishment sticks closely to its limited menu and doesn’t go beyond it which is fine. That said, if you’re a wine lover, this is a fantastic spot. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate perfect for a relaxed evening in Gdańsk. Overall, I’d recommend it and would rate it a solid 3.5/5
