MDWA is a stylish restaurant located inside the Hilton in Gdańsk, with an elegant interior and plenty of attention to detail. The overall experience feels polished, although perhaps a little too polished at times. The food was very good, with quality ingredients and attractive presentation, but it never quite reached the level of being truly memorable. Everything was enjoyable, just not particularly surprising or outstanding. One unusual feature is their service system: you’re given the option to press a button if you don’t want the staff to explain each dish. I actually appreciate the idea—sometimes you just want to enjoy your meal without a presentation—but the whole concept felt a little awkward in practice. When we visited, we were the only guests in the entire restaurant, which made the atmosphere feel a bit surreal despite the beautiful setting. Overall, it’s a refined restaurant that’s worth trying if you’re looking for a stylish dining experience, but I left feeling that the concept tries a little harder than the food needs to.
An outstanding culinary experience – the food was on the highest level, perfectly balanced with beautiful music, art, and the works of a remarkable Polish painter. The impeccable service and the atmosphere full of creativity made this evening unforgettable. It will stay with me forever, and I’ll definitely return to relive this experience next time I’m in Gdańsk.
Where do I even begin. MDWA is a new restaurant that truly sets the bar high. I would be very surprised if they don’t earn Gdańsk’s second Michelin star next time. This is absolutely a place you need to experience. Here, your senses are really challenged—and I mean that only in the most positive way. The dishes are inspired by Polish cuisine, which is by no means a drawback. It’s simply top-class. On top of that, the service level is outstanding, and I would happily return. The menu may say “only” six courses, but in reality, I would call this a 12-course experience of the highest level. We were also fortunate enough to have Dominik Karpik come out and talk us through several of the dishes, which made the experience even more unique. As for the price—there’s absolutely nothing to complain about. It’s incredibly fair when you consider how much you get for the money. A huge thank you to everyone behind MDWA for giving my partner and me the privilege of this exquisite experience.
