I found out about this bar while looking for any local gay bars during my recent stay in Gdańsk. I recognised from photos that it had great atmosphere and seemed to be a top notch bar with good reviews. But my experience there really disappointed me and was grossly sub par compared to many other bars and gay bars I have visited. The atmosphere was as promised but the service and drinks were the greatest disappointment of my evening. There was zero contact with most of the bartenders even though they seemed to be managing the queue very well. And the cocktails were a complete disaster. I ordered a pornstar martini and a whiskey sour and both were abysmal. The whiskey sour was watery and had barely any taste, certainly not a sour one as one might expect, observing the bartender it was clear that it was prepared quickly and incorrectly, shaken wrongly and made from imprecise ingredients. The pornstar martini was by far the most disastrous one I have ever witnessed. Instead of the classic, thick and, sweet drink, served with a side shot of prosecco, the drink was a watery, bland mess made from a little basic vodka and some juice instead of the thick sweet puree. In fact, the pornstar martini was more sour than the whiskey sour, and was anything but sweet. It lacked the taste, the texture and even the consistency of what a pornstar martini is and historically was. The prosecco was poured into the drink, destroying any possible chance at a pornstar martini taste, and replacing it with a vague aftertaste of dry prosecco. Then, when asked about why it wasn't provided as a side shot, the bartender completely ignored me and dryly asked me to pay. Completely underwhelming and disappointing. I hope the other bartenders did this beautiful bar more justice.
Having spend 2weeks in Gdansk. No doubt this is the best bar in town. Always a nice vibe, great places to sit inside and outside. The security personnel is very respectful and great to see how they operate from distance. It’s prefect that you can order food via a QR. One very large minus point. I don’t get what during busy moments they don’t adapt their operations at the bar. The queue is way too much for the amount of people. Being able to have a separate row for only beer from the tap would solve a lot. Summary: best spot in town, friendly staff en price/quality ok.
Had an awesome night at Red Light Pub! The energy was perfect and the drinks were spot on. Kornelia and Kinga absolutely crushed it behind the bar. They were super friendly, quick, and they made an incredible cocktail that became the highlight of the evening. Can’t wait to come back.
Nice relaxing place, great listening music, comfortable chairs on multi levels. I think the lighting effect is brilliant. Good choice of beers.
